Westside is one of the first residential buildings built on Teglholmen. It is designed by Lundgaard & Tranberg architects, the renowned office with several well-known projects in Copenhagen such as Skuespilhuset, Axel Towers, Havneholmen, etc. Built in 2006 in prefabricated concrete structure, it comprises of 7-stories above ground, 121 apartments with sizes ranging from 67 to 116 m2 (net area) partial basement for storages and installations and a common pram-room.
The iconic features of West side are its U-shape, garden, and facade. Opened towards south, the building embraces a garden which with small hills and high bushes creates a beautiful and scenic landscape.
This open space, including a pergola and a playground, creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere for the residents. The facade, a combination of Petersen handmade brick with blended colors and wooden mahogany-toned window frames just amplifies this warmness and is quite unique among the buildings on Teglholmen.
